The Peavey Bandit 112 Guitar Combo Amplifier has been a cornerstone of the Peavey TransTube solid-state range since 1995. Widely respected for its distinctive tone and dependable build quality, it remains a trusted choice for guitarists across all levels and musical styles.

The origin of the Bandit is part of industry history. Its development reflects the innovation that has helped establish Peavey as a leading amplifier manufacturer for over five decades. The Bandit 112 continues to represent that legacy, delivering a sound that has become a benchmark in solid-state amplification.

At the 1995 NAMM Show, Peavey engineers conducted a blind A/B comparison between a prototype Bandit and a well-known tube amplifier in front of players, dealers, and media. Many listeners were unable to distinguish between the two, with some even mistaking the TransTube prototype for a tube amp. This breakthrough led to the development of Peavey’s patented TransTube technology.

Rather than simply mimicking tube gain stages, Peavey engineers analysed the full behaviour of tube amplification. This included how components interact, speaker response, power amp compression, harmonic content, and the way an amplifier behaves under heavy drive. Even cabinet construction factors such as size, materials, and resonance were taken into account to better replicate the overall tonal experience.

Instead of focusing on superficial emulation, Peavey concentrated on reproducing the tonal qualities musicians actually recognise and value in tube amplifiers. This engineering approach resulted in multiple U.S. patents and established TransTube as a unique and proven technology.

The Bandit 112 is a highly versatile 2-channel combo amplifier designed for home use, studio work, rehearsal spaces, and live performance. Its clean channel functions as an excellent pedal platform, while the lead channel offers a range of drive tones from classic crunch to modern high gain.

Each channel features a 3-band passive EQ, with master reverb and a footswitchable boost for added flexibility. The clean channel includes selectable Vintage and Classic voicing options, while the lead channel provides both classic and modern high-gain modes.

For recording applications, the Speaker Simulated Direct Output with level control allows direct connection to a DAW for convenient tracking.
