Peavey Backstage II Guitar Combo Amplifier

The Peavey Backstage II Guitar Combo Amplifier is a compact practice amp designed to deliver the feel and response of traditional tube-driven sound in a convenient, portable format. It reproduces the warmth, dynamic output, and natural “push-back” response associated with valve amplifiers, all within a solid-state design.

Built around Peavey’s exclusive TransTube® technology, the Backstage II is engineered to simulate the behaviour of tube circuits without the maintenance, inconsistency, or cost of actual valves. The preamp section is designed to accurately model 12AX7-style response, allowing smooth transitions from clean tones through to crunchy overdrive and saturated distortion with natural harmonic character. It also recreates the interactive feel of tube compression, giving the amp a responsive, touch-sensitive playing experience.

This model includes a custom 6-inch heavy-duty speaker, switchable TransTube overdrive, and straightforward volume and EQ controls for high and low frequencies. A 2-channel design allows easy switching between clean and overdriven tones, making it suitable for a wide range of practice styles.

For added flexibility, the amp includes an auxiliary input for playing along with external audio sources, as well as a headphone output for silent practice. With 10 watts RMS output, it provides more than enough volume for personal use while remaining compact and easy to transport.
