The legendary tube amplifier that defined a genre — now in a compact, heavy-hitting package. Perfect for home, studio, or stage use, the 6505 MH delivers the iconic tube-driven tone that shaped the sound of hard rock and modern metal. Inspired by the revered 6505 1992 Original, this mini head captures the same aggression, clarity, and saturation in a portable format built for today's guitarist.
Featuring an all-tube preamp and power amplifier, the 6505 MH authentically produces the much-loved tones of its full-sized counterpart in a small, portable design. Its two channels follow the same gain structure and voicing as the original, delivering everything from tight, punchy rhythms to saturated, high-gain leads. The channels share a 3-band EQ, lush reverb, and an effects loop, giving you practical and effective tone control.
The included footswitch allows seamless control over channel switching, crunch mode, effects loop, and reverb, making it easy to adapt your sound on the fly. With a built-in resistive load, the amplifier can also be used without a connected speaker cabinet — ideal for silent recording and practice.
Designed for modern versatility, the 6505 MH features power attenuation (20W, 5W, and 1W), allowing you to achieve rich, driven tones at any volume level. It also includes a speaker defeat switch, headphone output, and Peavey's MSDI™ XLR direct output with ground lift for consistent, studio-ready recording without the need for a mic.
Loaded with 2 x EL84 power tubes and 3 x 12AX7/ECC83 preamp tubes, the 6505 MH delivers the tight low-end, aggressive midrange, and cutting highs that define the 6505 legacy. Compatible with both 8Ω and 16Ω speaker cabinets, it integrates easily into a variety of setups.
The 6505 Series is widely regarded as one of the most important amplifier lines in modern metal. Since its introduction in the early 1990s, it has helped shape the sound of heavy music, becoming a go-to choice for players seeking powerful, articulate high-gain tones.
